Connie Folk Doesn’t Miss PEPCO Since Going Solar
Connie Folk lives in Washington, DC and her electric utility services are provided by PEPCO. She chose to switch to cleaner, more affordable energy through SolarCity about 2 years ago, and since then, hasn’t heard from PEPCO as much as she used to. It doesn’t seem she misses them very much. The reason for that is, her solar power system has been supplying more solar energy than she uses, so PEPCO credits her for the extra energy, kind of like “buying it back.”
Since PEPCO was acquired by Exelon, many PEPCO customers experienced rate increases, but Connie hasn’t experienced that yet, because she hasn’t been billed by PEPCO since that time! All of her energy has been supplied by her solar power system, for which she didn’t pay a dime to acquire. Here is it, circled in red below: $ 242.80 in CREDITS.
But some people like sticking with the old ways, because it’s “worked well all those years.”
